Caraway

Caraway is an aromatic plant in the parsley that is common to central and northern Europe. The seeds are particularly aromatic when dried and have a nutty anise flavor. Widely used in German and Hungarian cooking to flavor breads, cakes, sauerkraut, stews, and cheeses to name but a few of its common uses. Caraway is also used in in making liqueurs, such as Kummel, Vespetro and schnapps.

Caraway seeds should be stored in a cool, dry and dark place for no more than six months.
