2003
- Visual: Yellow-gold
- Nose: Butter, soft and easy oak up front, “guava & banana”, baked apple, creme brulee, and citrus notes.
- Mouth: The wine was soft on the palate, round, but only 6% underwent malolactic fermentation (which makes the wine less acidic, more buttery)!
- Overall impression: This is a very nicely made, well-balanced, medium oaked wine. It was a good quality, nice, softer chardonnay. Like the Domaine Alfred, maybe the age had mellowed it a bit as well.
- Stats: 7 months 35% new French oak; 6% malolactic; 25,000 cases; $36; My score: 89
