Avocado dip

This is my mum’s recipe for guacamole. It’s not really like any other guacamole I’ve had, so I thought I would rename it.

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • Small piece of Spanish onion
  • ¼ clove of garlic — you really don’t want too much
  • Chili powder or chopped fresh chili, to taste
  • 2 Tbsp mayonnaise or 4 Tbsp sour cream
  • Juice of ½ a lemon
  • Good pinch of salt
  • Food processor
  • Mince the onion and garlic with the salt in the food processor.
  • Add all the other ingredients and blitz until almost smooth
  • As with any dish of raw ingredients, it is all in the quality of the ingredients — although, if your avocados aren’t quite perfect, this recipe is more tolerant than most guacamoles.
