Lemon-Tahini Sauce

This tangy, classic Middle Eastern sauce is great for falafel, and over grilled vegetables or crudités.

  • ⅓ cup tahini (sesame paste)
  • ¼ cup boiling water
  • 3 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp harissa
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • ¼ tsp fresh ground pepper
  • ¾ tsp kosher salt
  • Small non-reactive bowl
  • Whisk
  • Whisk all ingredients in small bowl and serve.
  • Can be stored in refrigerator for 2 days but, bring to room temp to serve.
  • Tahini and harissa can be found in Middle Eastern markets or in specialty sections of your market. Harissa is a fiery, Tunisia hot sauce.
