Singapore Sling (original)

Refreshing tropical cocktail garnished with a pineapple slice and cherry, set on a wooden surface with a whole pineapple and cocktail shaker in the background.

Initially intended as a woman’s drink, the original was created by Ngiam Tong Boon, a bartender at Raffles Hotel, Singapore (1915). Now very popular and enjoyed by all, it was a favorite of the actor Douglas Fairbanks. One sip and you will know why.

  • ⅔ oz gin
  • ⅔ oz cherry brandy
  • ⅓ oz Cointreau
  • ⅓ oz Benedictine
  • ⅓ oz fresh lime juice
  • 2 ½ oz fresh orange juice
  • 2 ½ oz pineapple juice
  • Maraschino cherries
  • Pineapple slices for garnish
  • Highball glass
  • Shaker
  • Place all ingredients in shaker.
  • Shake and strain into glass.
  • Garnish with pineapple slice, cherry and straw.
