When I read that Martin Scorcese reads a cookbook to relax, I felt better about what I thought was as private obsession. I started cooking when I was 4 years old at my father’s restaurant in San Francisco.

My proudest food achievement thus far is that my husband has learned to love Chinese food, orders whole steamed fish without my prompting, and will suck the marrow out of ox tail bones. I can’t wait for my newborn to grow teeth, start walking, talking and improving motor skills so he can join us in my favorite family activity: cooking for our family and friends!
