Simple and sweet soy salmon recipe

Here’s a great recipe because it is so simple (It probably shouldn’t even count as a “recipe”). Yummy too.

Ready

  • Salmon steaks
  • Maple Syrup (any type)
  • Soy Sauce
  • Toasted seasame seeds (optional)
  • Rice - cooked separately

Set

  • Bowl
  • Ziplcok bag
  • Baking pan
  • Sauce pan (optional

Go

  1. Make a marinade using equal parts of syrup and soy sauce.
  2. Marinate Salmon at least 15 minutes in a ziploc bag, less than 1 hour.
  3. Preheat oven to 450°F.
  4. Bake uncovered, about 450°F until cooked through (about 5-10 minutes). Watch carefully.
  5. If you want to get fancy, you can boil and reduce extra marinade until is becomes a glaze.
  6. Sprinkle with toasted seasame seeds if you are serving to guests, otherwise, just dig in!
  7. Serve with rice.
Re: Simple and sweet soy salmon recipe

This is great. I truly love the simplicity of this recipe. Can’t wait to try it. One question: I notice you add no seasoning. Is this because you get enough salt from the soy?

Re: Simple and sweet soy salmon recipe

I never thought about it, but yes that makes sense. The soy sauce provides plenty of salt and the combination of soy sauce and maple syrup is really flavorful.

And isn’t simplicity part of the GreatGrub spirit?
