Does anybody have a good recommendation for a deep fryer. Mine died yesterday and I need to buy a new one. The one I had was made by Rival. I liked it because it had a attached top that made it safer. But the cheap temperature control switch gave out after three years and now I need to buy a new one.

I don’t have a specific recommendation, but things to look for:
- The heat settings for the things you cook
- Easy to clean (my Kenwood comes apart easily and everything except the thermostat can go in the dishwasher)
- Basket can hang above the oil to drain

Well I finally broke down and purchased a new deep fryer. See my recommendation if you are looking for one too.

What is your price range? Miele do one in the UK for about $1000! Looks gorgeous but probably does the same job as the cool Delonghi which costs under $50. Truth is, I am sure they are all much of a muchness. Does it reach a decent heat level? Is it easy to remove the basket without taking skin off your hands? Does the casing stay cool when the oil is hot? I’d most likely go for the one that looks best on your kitchen counter.
