Is Organic Sustainable

I’ve been thinking a lot about organic gardening and I’ve been wondering if it is sustainable on a macro level. One of the by-products of the rapid assent of industrial agriculture is the huge population explosion of the last century. We have, for the time being at least, proved Malthus wrong. But if we suddenly came to our senses and converted all of our farms to organic would we be able to sustain our current populations.
