Calvados Apples

This is a great side to serve over ice cream or spiced cakes such as gingerbread.


  • 8 Medium apples
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Calvados (apple brandy)
  • 2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • pinch of salt


  • Large Saute pan
  • Dish for serving


  1. Peel and core apples.
  2. Melt butter in sauté pan.
  3. Add sugar, calvados, lemon juice and salt.
  4. Add apples and cook, stirring occasionally, until apples are just soft.
  5. Remove from heat and serve.
