Chinese marinade for pork, chicken or beef

This marinade is ubiquitous in Chinese cuisine.
A marinade such as this can’t really be prescriptive. It will vary depending on your taste, quantity of meat, etc… but it will get better and better the more you do it, to the point where you gauge it all by eye and the extraordinary aromas the marinade imparts.
Ready
- 1 Tbsp dark soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp light soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
- ½ tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp Chinese cooking wine
- 1 heaped tsp corn starch
- ½ tsp sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- Dash of white pepper
- Pork, chicken or beef (typically cut in to strips ready for a stir-fry)
Set
- Bowl
Go
- Add all the ingredients to your meat of choice and mix very well (you may want to use your hands).
- Leave to marinade for around 15 minutes at least before cooking.

I made this tonight with sliced flank steak and sugar snap peas. Easy, quick and delicious served with steamed jasmine rice. My kids loved it!

Easy. Thanks. Goes really well with chicken and tastes better than our local Chinese restaurant.
