Lemon-Tahini Sauce

This tangy, classic Middle Eastern sauce is great for falafel, and over grilled vegetables or crudités.


  • ⅓ cup tahini (sesame paste)
  • ¼ cup boiling water
  • 3 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp harissa
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • ¼ tsp fresh ground pepper
  • ¾ tsp kosher salt


  • Small non-reactive bowl
  • Whisk


  1. Whisk all ingredients in small bowl and serve.
  2. Can be stored in refrigerator for 2 days but, bring to room temp to serve.

What you should know

Tahini and harissa can be found in Middle Eastern markets or in specialty sections of your market. Harissa is a fiery, Tunisia hot sauce.
