There’s an artesian micro-roasting simply company called Blue Bottle that produces some of the best beans on the west coast of the United States. They claim to take “freshness and small batch roasting to an extreme not considered practical anywhere else in the coffee business.” All I know is that their obsession translates into some delicious beans.

They use only the best certified organic coffees, occasionally using beautiful coffees that are farmed traditionally without pesticides. Furthermore they are so obsessive about freshness that they only ship on Mondays and your order absolutely has to be in by noon on Sunday (pacific standard time). So if you’re late you’re going have to wait.

The coffee’s not cheap as it averages $17 a pound plus shipping, but if you’re as consumed with your morning brew as I am than Blue Bottle is well worth it when you want to treat yourself to something special.
