This is a really nice varaition of the Silver Gin Fizz recipe which you can make anytime Meyer lemons are in season. This is a naturally smoother than the standard version as the Meyer lemon blends well the gin to create a distinctive cocktail that will appeal to just about any palate.
Ready
- Juice of ½ a Meyer lemon (aprox 1 oz)
- Juice of ½ a lime (optional) (aprox 1 oz)
- ½ tablespoon sugar (or less, to taste)
- 1 egg white
- 2 oz gin
- Chilled soda water
Set
- Cocktail shaker
- Fizz or highball glass
- Ice
Go
- Add juice, sugar, egg and gin and ice to cocktail shaker.
- Shake well.
- Then shake it some more.
- Don’t stop shaking yet.
- If you are using pasteurized egg whites, keep shaking.
- Once you’re worn out, strain into a fizz or highball glass (don’t put any ice in the glass).
- Top the frothy mix with a few ounces of cold soda water.

This was okay. I love meyer lemon’s but with gin I prefer regular lemons which are more tart. I much preferred the Silver Gin Fizz.
