Meyer Lemon Gin Fizz

This is a really nice varaition of the Silver Gin Fizz recipe which you can make anytime Meyer lemons are in season. This is a naturally smoother than the standard version as the Meyer lemon blends well the gin to create a distinctive cocktail that will appeal to just about any palate.

Ready

  • Juice of ½ a Meyer lemon (aprox 1 oz)
  • Juice of ½ a lime (optional) (aprox 1 oz)
  • ½ tablespoon sugar (or less, to taste)
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 oz gin
  • Chilled soda water

Set

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Fizz or highball glass
  • Ice

Go

  1. Add juice, sugar, egg and gin and ice to cocktail shaker.
  2. Shake well.
  3. Then shake it some more.
  4. Don’t stop shaking yet.
  5. If you are using pasteurized egg whites, keep shaking.
  6. Once you’re worn out, strain into a fizz or highball glass (don’t put any ice in the glass).
  7. Top the frothy mix with a few ounces of cold soda water.

Thanks

Re: Meyer Lemon Gin Fizz

This was okay. I love meyer lemon’s but with gin I prefer regular lemons which are more tart. I much preferred the Silver Gin Fizz.

Re: Meyer Lemon Gin Fizz

agreed. meyer lemons are too sweet and should not be called for when sour is needed.

Re: Meyer Lemon Gin Fizz

This would go perfect with the Velvety Meyer lemon ice cream . Yummm.
